Grovecrest Ballroom began in 2008 and has grown leaps and bounds since. We have close to 100 students every year! We have done very well at the team match events and have even been awarded the top over all and Spirit Award multiple times!
The program is for 4th-6th graders. Everyone gets the opportunity to participate in a Christmas performance, assemblies, parties, and Spring Concert. The 5th and 6th graders have the opportunity to dance in up to 3 team match events!
Cost is $70 for 4th graders and $140 for 5th and 6th graders. This includes a fun ballroom t-shirt and costume rental fees.
Ballroom season goes from September - March. Ballroom classes follow the school and district schedule, so if school is out, we will not be holding ballroom classes.
Elementary Ballroom Mission Statement
Our goal is to provide social dance instruction for children in a positive, friendly, and fun atmosphere. We believe this type of instruction builds self-esteem and confidence. Through partnered ballroom dance movement, children learn mutual respect and social skills useful throughout their lives.
The first day of class we teach the kids about RESPECT which is...
R = Responsible – we are accountable for our own actions.
E = Equal – we treat everyone the same by being nice and kind.
S = Supportive – we show support to everyone in the class by helping in a kinds way.
P = Polite – we use good manners through our words and actions.
E = Esteem – we make everyone feel important and worthwhile by what we say and do, and we never put anyone down for trying.
C = Courteous – we are always considerate to everyone and are never rude.
T = Thoughtful – we think before we speak or act and always use the Golden Rule.
